Maths Extra

A group of us were the representative team for our school at the Extra Maths Quiz.  Bonnie,Steen,Dominic and Eva answered many different and difficult math questions. Even thought it was hard Dominic said that he really enjoyed.
They did not win but thought it was a good experience as some had never been apart of this competition.

St Johns

Our class was able to practice differents skills to help people who have become hurt or injured.  We practice on each other and learnt the correct way of doing things.
We thought these skills would be helpful when we are on duty as a peer mediator or when we have E.O.T.C week,

Soccer

This term, we have been taking part in inter school soccer.  We get together, having  fun playing the game at each others school.  We haven't had many games due to the poor weather and muddy fields.  Finally we might be able to have our final game on Tuesday , here at school.

Kahurangi Dance Group

We were lucky to watch the performance present by the Kahurangi Dance Group.  They shared waiata, haka, poi, rakau and stories with us.

Using the environment

We were lucky to have a crab apple tree that sits outside of the school.  We noticed that the fruit was ripe and that it was being left to rot.  As  a class, we thought it would be wasteful to leave the fruit so we came up with ideas on how we could use this fruit.
Finally we came up with making jam from it and lovely it was.  It took many cooking sessions and glass jar finding but we came out with a sweet reward.

Art Gallery Visit

Having a chance to go to the Art Gallery was a great opportunity to learning new skills .  Using the knowlege that the children had learnt on their trip to Warrington Beach, they used this in designing their pictures.  Everyone loved the visit and asked when they would be able to go again.

Mussel Time

To help us with understanding how a mussel works we looked carefully at their parts.  It was interesting to learn how it moves and feeds.
