More Portraits
This week saw us completing our portraits.Paint was the choice of media. Mixing and adding face details was a challenge. The final portraits have been finished and comments have been given on the effect and level that students are working at.
Cricket at the Edgar
The senior school had the opportunity to participate in a cricket tournament held at the Edgar Centre. A range of schools were involved with teams of eight players in each. Hitting, batting, catching and a lot of running was seen by all. It was a successfully tournament wth many children having sucess at evey level. Watch out for the next time we all hit the flield. Black Caps watch out for some of our up and coming players.
The life of a frog.
As part of our study on waterways and Lindseys Creek,we have been watching the development of our tadpoles into frogs. As we watched them go through their life cycle we had to look at the different habitats that they would need for them to survive in our class. Well, we have two frogs that are now adults and enjoying their new habitat. They are fascinating to watch, especially at feeding time. The fruit flies go down a treat. We will continue to watch and monitor their development. Returning them back to their original environment will be our next step.

Bike Day
BIkes!Bikes!Bikes!
The day was cold and wet but that didn't stop us from experiencing a wide range of bicycles. To celebrate being active we had the opportunity to get onto these bikes and have a go. Some bikes were so unusual that it took a brave person to attempt to ride them. Although it rained we all participated and enjoyed ourselves.

Class portraits
It just doesn’t stop there with photos. We have been using a range of art materials to create our own portraits. They are now hanging in our class. Using crayons, pastel and dyes these portraits of us look amazing. It’s fantastic to see people stop and have a look at our portraits and ask how we have done them. Ask someone in our room. Maybe they will give away our secret.
Who in the world is Room 5 ?
Who in the world is Room 5?
Getting to know everyone has been a key learning that has been our focus.
One way we have been doing this is by photos and taking pictures especially portraits. Learning to take a good photo will help us when we introduce new children to the school.
We create a student profile and poster. These can be seen hanging in our office foyer
