Netball has begun for children at North East Valley Normal School with games being played at the Edgar Centre each Tuesday afternoon.
On Tuesday the 5th of May, the North East Valley netball team played Mornington School. They got off to a good start with Jorja scoring the first two goals. Ben was great on attack. He was after every ball that came his way. Latiesha was great on defence as GD. She was blocking the shooters from getting the goals. North East Valley won by two goals. The player of the day was Jorja for all the goals that she scored. Good luck for next week.

School soccer

On Wednesday 5th May, our school soccer team had their first game against Forbury school . The children that have started to play are from Room 5 and Room 3. Some children have played before and for some others it was their first game. It was a good game but in the end Forbury won 2-1. In the first half the children were down by 1 goal. After half time Sione scored a goal but they were fast back at them and they scored again to win it. This week in our practice time the team goal is to pass more.

Topic Challenge

Check out this homework. What great presentation seen on Friday with all of the topic challenges that were presented. It was amazing all the different ideas that all the children came up with. After brainstorming, selecting questions and then finding the information the children completed their topic challenge. Home work can be fun and you can learn something along the way.

Story Telling

We are looking at the way stories are told and retold. Our personal history is often told to use by stories. Some of us were able to tell others some of the stories that were told to them.
Stories are shared in different cultures often explaining how things came to be. Some of us have been reading myths and legends of New Zealand. We have been enjoying retelling some of these.
Retelling is a great way of sharing a story. Have a look at this legend that has been retold by animation. What do you think?
