Ukulele Time

This is my recount of our time we participated in the 2012 Ukulele Jam.

0n Friday the 3rd of August, room 5 of North East Valley Normal School went to the Ukulele Jam being held at George Street Normal School.  When the children got to George St , they walked into the hall and sat down in rows.  There was around 400 children all ready to go.
The children played six songs and then went outside to have a break.
They all came back in and the teachers played their song,Surf'n U.S.A.  Next they played six more songs.  The children's fingers were strumming and their voices singing.  The hall was alive with music.
Some Highlanders arrived and they judged the best ukulele design.  The children had put in a lot of effort to make their ukulele's bright and colourful.  After that they joined in with the rest of the songs that the children were playing.
Finally, they played Rock around the Clock.  The hall was rocking!
One of Jasmin's favourite parts was when the teachers played their item.  They even did a little twirl halfway through their song.
It was also nice seeing some of the children from North East Valley getting up on the stage.
Anyway, see you all because I have to go home and put band aids on all my fingers from all my great playing.  Can't wait until next year.
